It looks like the type of movie that doesn't resort buffoonery. Now as far as the Oscar, it would be beautiful, but unfortunately, I think the society has a long way to go. Take for instance "The Color Purple". Beautiful, touching film with wonderful acting and a great cast. Nominated for numerous Oscars, but when it came to the awards show, it was completely shut out with no win. <br />I can't wait to finally see "For colored girls" soon. Hopefully it will get the recognition it deserves. <br />(Fun fact: In the play, each character didn't have names, but was referred to by the colors they wore. Also, Mariah Carey was originally supposed to play Thandie's character, but had to bow out at the last minute due to her pregnancy.)Michy V.noreply@blogger.com
