New Movies Playing!

The Girl with the
Dragon Tattoo
What's It About?
The remake of the 2009 Swedish film- about the hacker with the dragon tattoo and the journalist- who team up to uncover the mystery of the disappearance of a  young woman within a powerful family.

PREDICTION:
"TGWTDT looks pretty up to par with the original. The new Lisbeth Salander, Rooney Mara looks like she will give the original Lisbeth, Noomi Rapace, a run for her money. And at first glance, recent Bond, Daniel Craig looks out of place as Mikael Blomkvist but comparing him to the original Blomkvist, Michael Nyqvist, Craig is perfectly cast. Fans of the novel and acclaimed Swedish original version, may not care for the remake, but for non-fans- TGWTDT, looks like a really intriguing thriller. "

Mission Impossible:
Ghost Protocol
What's It About?
The 4th installment of the Mission Impossible film series- about the super spy Ethan Hunt taking on impossible missions.

PREDICTION:
"MI:GP looks packed with plenty of action and fun! And isn't that the point of a Mission Impossible movie? However, sans Tom Cruise, the rest of the cast is so-so. Yet, MI:GP looks a lot better than the so-so 2006 Mission: Impossible III.  Tom Cruise aka Ethan Hunt, makes the series, so does the rest of the cast even really matter?"

The Darkest Hour
What's It About?
As an alien invasion happens worldwide, a group of young people in Russia, try to survive.

PREDICTION:
"The Darkest Hour looks like mindless fun but really bad at the same time. Looks to be this year's awful alien flick a la last year's Skyline."

*

In the Land
of Blood and Honey
What's It About?
An ill-fated love story of a Muslim woman and a Serbian man.

PREDICTION:
"The buzzed about directorial and script debut of Angelina Jolie- looks visually powerful as well as the story, but the story also looks well, dull too. Only to check out Jolie's skills as a director, would I see this."

*

We Bought a Zoo
What's It About?
A recently widowed father, who moves his children to a new home- which turns out to be an old zoo.

PREDICTION:
"We Bought A Zoo looks heart-warming and sweet. Jason Bourne Matt Damon and usually sexed up Scarlett Johansson looking dowdy are interestingly cast in this family flick."

*

Extremely Loud and
Incredibly Close
What's It About?
After a young boy loses his father in the 9/11 attacks, he goes on a journey around NYC, looking for the lock that matches a key his father left behind.

PREDICTION:
"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close looks very sentimental. Tissues definitely need to be bought into to this tear-jerker. Sweethearts Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock in the same movie should bring some sweet chemistry."

*

The Flowers of War
What's It About?
During a war in China, a Westerner and a courtesan help save a group of Chinese schoolgirls from the fate of Japanese soldiers.

PREDICTION:
"The Flowers of War looks pretty dramatic and romantic."

*

The Adventures of
Tintin
What's It About?
Animated tale of a boy reporter, his dog and their adventures.

PREDICTION:
"If you're a fan of the comic books or 13 and under, The Adventures of Tintin probably looks very cool. Being it's a Steven Spielberg film, fans of his will probably enjoy."

*

War Horse
What's It About?
The bond between a soldier and his horse during the time of WWI.

PREDICTION:
"War horse looks a lot tedious- but touching too."
